We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to join the Frailty Team at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy. Our team delivers Comprehensive Geriatric Assessments (CGA) to patients presenting with frailty in key front-door areas, including the Medical/Surgical Admissions Units, Emergency Department, Rapid Triage Unit and GP Assessment.

This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to be part of an innovative service. You will provide rapid multidimensional assessments and identify appropriate care pathways to support patient flow, contributing to the ongoing development of the Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy role within the evolving Frailty Team.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Practitioners, and Clinical Frailty Practitioners, and must be flexible to cover a seven-day working rota. The Frailty Team operates from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 365 days a year, on a self-rostering basis.

You should have significant inpatient experience, preferably at Band 6 level, and a strong interest in working with older adults, aligning with local and National Frailty Standards. Experience in staff supervision and management is beneficial as you will engage in clinical audits, quality improvement, and supervise junior staff and students. The role offers regular supervision, TURAS appraisal, and opportunities for professional development.

If you are a dedicated Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist with a passion for enhancing the lives of older adults and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you. In return, you will benefit from in-service training, regular appraisals, and PDP meetings, as well as development opportunities and robust support from both peers and management.

For informal enquiries, please contact Louise Oliver, Frailty Team Lead on 01592 643355 ext. 21360.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week temporarily for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Recruiting Board.

NHS Fife is legally obliged to ensure all its employees are legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom. If you are not a United Kingdom (UK) or Irish National, you are required to confirm your right to work in your application.

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
