If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated team as a Behaviour Support Assistant! Sugarman Education are currently working alongside a fantastic school in Edgware who are in need of a Behaviour Support Assistant to work alongside a number of pupils in KS3. Sugarman are recruiting on behalf of this SEN Secondary school. The school is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment where every student can thrive. Some of the students here face a variety of challenges. The school prides itself on helping them develop the skills they need to succeed both academically and socially. We offer a supportive and collaborative environment, with a strong focus on professional development for our staff. The role: As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the emotional and behavioural needs of the students. Working closely with the teaching team, you will help create a positive learning environment by: Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs. Implementing behaviour management strategies tailored to individual students. Supporting students in building positive relationships and coping mechanisms. Assisting in the development of personalised support plans. Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure student progress. What the school is looking for: A passion for working with children and young people. Experience in a similar role or within an educational setting (preferably SEMH or SEN). Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students. Patience, resilience, and a calm approach to challenging behaviour. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
