Sid Valley Practice is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Nursing team as a full-time Health Care Assistant. This permanent role offers a contract for up to 37 hours per week, working 4 days per week to ensure optimal staffing levels. However, training schedules may vary. Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities Patient Reception & Support:

Greet and assist patients, providing directions and ensuring they access the appropriate healthcare services. Clinical Assistance:

Support the nursing team with clinical tasks such as health screenings, vaccinations, and minor surgery procedures. Health Advice:

Offer guidance on health and lifestyle, and perform health checks for new patients and carers. Administrative Duties:

Handle tasks such as medical report preparation, managing prescriptions, and coordinating patient referrals. Clinical Equipment & Stock Management:

Ensure clinical rooms are stocked with necessary supplies and that vaccines and medications are properly stored. Confidentiality & Data Protection:

Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure secure handling of sensitive information according to legal and ethical guidelines. Health & Safety Compliance:

Follow health and safety policies, report risks, and adhere to infection control procedures. Team Collaboration & Development:

Contribute to the effectiveness of the healthcare team, support colleagues, and engage in personal development through training and performance reviews. About us

Purpose of the Role:

The Health Care Assistant is a vital member of the nursing team within a Primary Care setting, responsible for assisting in the assessment, planning, and delivery of nursing care. The role focuses on providing a high standard of clinical support, health education, and patient care, in line with agreed protocols and under the guidance of a registered nurse. The post holder will contribute to the smooth running of the practice by performing clinical measurements, assisting in minor surgery, processing pathology specimens, and engaging in various administrative tasks. This position also plays a key role in maintaining a welcoming, caring environment for patients, fostering a collaborative relationship with healthcare professionals and ensuring that all practices adhere to safety, confidentiality, and quality standards.
