Joining our team you will be afforded fantastic opportunities for CPD, teaching and mentoring through senior staff educated to Masters level, or above. We have long established links with multiple South Wales Universities, for undergrad and post-grad Physio education, including the provision of student placements.

Recently we have had many staff secure HEIW funding for post graduate study. We have strong relationships with the School of Health Science, and School of Medicine at Swansea University, both in terms of accessing post-grad courses, supporting research projects, and providing teaching and education to medical students.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post. Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

To provide a high standard physiotherapy service to the specialist caseload across various sites within the SBUHB as the service requires. To manage a defined caseload of clients with complex needs within this setting, using evidence-based/client-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions, maintaining associated records. To perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme. To provide leadership for junior staff, through supervision and appraisal as delegated by supervisor. To supervise Physiotherapy students on clinical placements. To deputise for the Senior Physiotherapists in their absence as required. To participate in CPD and develop skills and knowledge through participation in an in-service training scheme. To work across the Health Board and travel between SBU Health Board sites as required to support service delivery. To undertake lone working if required.

Physio degree or similar HCPC registration

Knowledge

Essential

Relevant Ax and RX interventions to LD Awareness and knowledge of relevant policy and legislation appropriate to LD (MCA etc) Knowledge of clinical governance, audit and research Understanding of roles of MDT and partnership working

Experience

Essential

Significant post grad experience in the UK with varied clinical experience - paeds, ortho, community + neuro. Delivery of programmes in conjunction with families/carers Caseload management skills Experience of supervision and delegation

Skills

Essential

Verbal, written, listening with a wide variety of people + methods Involving patients in Ax and Rx Organisational and prioritisation skills Independent and team working Experience working in the NHS in various settings such as hospital or community settings.
