W&A is partnering with a financial services firm based in Edinburgh (but this can be flexible) to help source a Head of Financial & Prudential Risk. The Head of Financial & Prudential Risk is a senior leadership role responsible for reviewing and oversighting the financial risk management. The role reports into the Risk Director as part of our Second Line of Defence Risk Team. This role will operate on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 1 day a week in the office. Key Responsibilities:

Providing independent validation over capital and liquidity management models, and assurance over compliance with regulatory requirements and expectations. Providing effective and timely risk management support, challenge and opinions to the business including on strategic developments, change initiatives and new products, with a specific focus on capital and liquidity implications. Supporting the development, implementation and embedding of appropriate risk appetite and other metrics for financial risk. Supporting assessment of emerging risks and scenario analysis activities such as stress testing and sensitivity analysis. Actively promoting close and harmonious working relationships across the business and developing deep subject matter expertise of specific business areas. Reporting on the aggregate financial risk profile including material risk exposures / position against risk appetite, effectiveness of associated control environment and material incidents. Supporting ORSA/ICARA report production processes. About You:

Strong capital modelling experience and/or internal model validation experience. Excellent report writing skills, experience of preparing reports and presentations. Ability to challenge the business at all levels and present considered and balanced risk opinions, findings and recommendations. Knowledge of Solvency II, IPRU-INV Chapter 5 and MIFIDPRU and experience of regulatory expectations (FCA & PRA).
