As aFinancial Crime Lawyer, you’ll support the Head of Financial Crime Compliance and work closely with regional and local compliance teams. You’ll be instrumental in managing risk and ensuring compliance across key areas, including anti-money laundering (AML), sanctions, and anti-bribery and corruption. This role offers the opportunity to lead on compliance matters, provide strategic guidance, and help shape the firm's approach to financial crime compliance. Key Responsibilities Conduct risk assessments, review risk ratings, and advise on AML, sanctions, and anti-bribery and corruption queries. Respond to compliance-related queries from lawyers, clients, and support staff. Support the firm’s procedures for reporting suspicious transactions and liaising with MLROs and regulatory authorities. Assist with regulatory audits and advise on sanctions-related intake matters. Keep abreast of legal and regulatory developments and implement necessary changes. Develop and deliver training programmes for lawyers, compliance staff, and support teams. This role is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented legal professional with a strong background in financial crime compliance. You should be a qualified lawyer, (4 years + PQE) with solid knowledge of AML, sanctions, and anti-bribery and corruption laws, and experience handling complex compliance matters. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice. Strong communication and writing skills, combined with a collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for risk and compliance, will ensure your success in this role.
