About the role:
As a Speech and Language Therapist you will be working at a pediatric school in Chelmsford with children 5-14 years to support their social, emotional, behavioural and educational development.
Your main responsibilities as a Speech and Language Therapist:
Plan, resource & prepare effective and engaging therapy programmes for children Deliver whole-staff therapeutic training Adopt a capacity building approach whereby the aim of intervention is to equip staff with the skills to effectively facilitate the development of pupils’ communication skills Assist in determining the communicative function of a behaviour and to develop/target goals that will reduce challenging behaviour by providing pupils with a more effective means of communicating Establish functional goals that promote meaningful participation and increased independence Develop, facilitate and monitor the implementation of whole class intervention programs Complete termly therapy reports on children’s progress in individual and group therapy sessions

What we are looking for in a Speech and Language Therapist:
Must be HCPC and RCSLT registered or in process Understanding of mental health in children, ACEs, trauma and the impact of abuse and mental health difficulties on child development, attachment and behaviour
