Education Requirements - none but degree preferred or commercial exposure Experience Requirements - 5 plus years Industry - Technology Qualifications - none required Work Hours - 35 hours Skills: Excellent knowledge of Windows Servers, Active Directory, Email Platforms, Anti-Virus Systems, Networking, Networking protocols & Networking Security, VM, etc. Extensive knowledge in IP networks and multi-platform server environments. Experience with the maintenance of Exchange 2013, SQL Server, Symantec Enterprise Protection, Backup Exec. Understanding of ITIL. Principal Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities: Support and monitor existing infrastructure, perform preventative maintenance work, backup, and other regular support activities. Plan, manage, and implement infrastructure projects and upgrades. Respond to 2nd/3rd line Help Desk calls and manage requests to resolution. Ensure the security of data and IT systems, educating staff on secure working practices. Liaise with external suppliers for ongoing support and maintenance. Minimise disruption to existing business use during work and changes. Assist in tracking infrastructure assets. Design and document infrastructure processes and maintain system documentation. Keep users informed and liaise with staff regarding escalated issues. Ensure technology is used in accordance with standards and policies. Establish guidelines for managing networked applications. Collaborate with the Global IT team on global initiatives. Assist in office moves and changes. Provision new systems and resolve issues. Duties may vary due to the nature of the IT environment. Network: Support and monitor internal networks and ensure configuration is correct. Assist with maintaining and managing company firewalls. Manage wired and wireless networks, including problem resolution. Manage physical security systems under the IT team’s remit. Work with the infrastructure team to improve global infrastructure. Servers: Check logs and servers for proper patching and issue resolution. Test and roll out software updates, focusing on security. Ensure adequate backups of data are maintained and tested. Core Technical Experience: All-round IT infrastructure specialist with at least 3 years of hands-on experience. Excellent IP network skills including managing switches, wireless networks, routing protocols, and VoIP. Experience with SQL Server or SharePoint, server setup, and Active Directory. Experience with email systems and understanding of mail domains. Hands-on experience with LAN, WAN, and VPN technologies. Experience managing core IT applications including email and anti-virus systems. Experience in managing enterprise-level email systems. Previous experience in IT project environments. Experience with IT integration projects. Good knowledge of IT security and experience with firewalls. Strong experience in virtualised environments (VMware). Knowledge of SAN technologies. Implementation and management of web technologies. Working knowledge of firewall and security technologies.
