This is an exciting opportunity to join a business that is in high demand and work under a supportive management team that values its people. The Role As the sole C&I specialist on-site, you will play a crucial role in developing, maintaining, and optimising critical systems and equipment to ensure plant efficiency and reliability. Working closely with an experienced management team, you’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of projects and daily operations, including calibrating instrumentation, diagnosing PLC faults, and maintaining hundreds of key instruments across the site. Key Responsibilities: Work extensively with PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems, calibrating instrumentation, diagnosing PLC faults via laptops, and making small programming changes. Interpret and apply P&ID drawings effectively for system maintenance and troubleshooting. Conduct daily checks, maintenance, and repairs of plant instrumentation to ensure operational efficiency. Support ongoing projects, including commissioning of a mill and DCS/instrumentation work. Tackle a variety of challenges, from reactive maintenance to planned tasks and instrumentation repairs. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across all activities. The ideal candidate will have: Extensive experience in controls and instrumentation Familiarity with PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems, including the ability to diagnose and make small programming changes. Strong knowledge of instrumentation calibration and fault diagnosis. Certifications such as COMPEX or similar (preferred). The ability to read and understand P&ID drawings.
