Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, you will be instrumental in developing, defining, and implementing the strategy for the engineering department. In addition, your key responsibilities will also include: Working closely with the Operations Director to lead, manage and develop a customer-focused engineering team. Embedding best practices in continuous improvement, value engineering, and design for manufacturing. Engaging with relevant stakeholders, customers, suppliers, and manufacturers to drive improvements in reliability and cost of goods. Playing a key role in interpreting customer needs, being the Voice of the Customer both internally and externally, and being directly involved in the development and introduction of new products. The Candidate Ideally with a Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, this role requires an individual with extensive knowledge of best practices in CI, value engineering, DFM, together with NPD/NPI. also demonstrate your capability and achievements in: Strong team management skills, with an extensive track record of leading, managing, and mentoring an engineering team and function. Extensive experience in Engineering, Technical, or Manufacturing Management is essential, together with setting standards for best practices in modern manufacturing techniques. Demonstrating a highly successful track record of delivering NPD/NPI projects on time and within budget. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels.
