Contracts Advisor

The role encompasses deployment of Contract Management activities for London hub, covering a new carbon capture pipeline project based in the North Sea.

The selected candidate shall:

Review and qualify or draft different types of contracts, including but not limited to: engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), transportation and installation, service contracts, as well as associated confidentiality agreements, non-disclosure and restrictive use agreements; partnership/consortium/joint venture/alliance agreements, subcontract agreements; Manage the workload in coordination with Tendering/Commercial, Project Management and Procurement functions, collecting the inputs from the other functions, including Insurance, Tax and Finance; Prepare Contract Summaries on a tender/project specific basis; Advise Company and Corporate Management on the main contractual risks, identifying and proposing contractual mitigation actions; Participate in meetings (with internal clients, external clients, partners and subcontractors), negotiating, taking notes and preparing summaries and/or Minutes of Meeting; Negotiate the contractual instruments with the counterparties in the best interests of the Company and in accordance with Company risk policies; Support the Project Management teams in the determination of claims and contract management strategies, in the preparation and evaluation of variation order requests, and in the drafting of key project correspondence towards clients, major subcontractors and/or other interfacing third parties; Support the Procurement function in the review of subcontracts and purchase orders; Draft all related legal instruments and correspondence; Perform legal research, e.g. case law affecting Company market space; Have knowledge of the industry standard contracts (FIDIC, LOGIC, BIMCO, IOCs' etc.); Assist in the resolution of legal and contractual matters, in coordination with the relevant Corporate functions; Regularly report to the Company and Corporate Management on the Contract Management activities.

Essential Skills Knowledge and experience of English Law; Proven experience of reviewing and advising on tendering contracts and of administrating project contracts and effective negotiation skills are essential; Proven experience negotiating and executing offshore construction contracts; Excellent written and verbal communication skills, listening and influencing; Strong commercial awareness; Ability to work under time pressure to meet deadlines; Critical thinking and problem solving skills; Leadership skills; Team player attitude; International mobility both for short missions and potentially for long-term assignments.
