THE COMPANY Our client is a UK based, SME manufacturer of textiles suppling a diverse product portfolio supplying into a variety of industries. The business is well positioned for growth, aiming to significantly increase turnover and profit in the next 5 years. The company seeks an experienced and highly commercial Managing Director to lead this exciting phase of expansion. THE ROLE MANAGING DIRECTOR Headquartered in Yorkshire, the company has the ambition to significantly grow over the next 5 years. The incoming Managing Director will be an experienced and highly commercial business leader, with a successful track record of enhancing profitability and growing businesses. Reporting to the Board, this is a key appointment with full P&L and strategic responsibility. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a robust business strategy to achieve growth objectives, increase profitability and turnover within 5 years. Commercial Growth: Drive sales performance, profitability, and market share by implementing effective sales, marketing, and operational initiatives. Operational Excellence: Oversee all business functions, ensuring seamless integration of supply chain sourcing, production, and customer service. Financial Management: Take ownership of the P&L, delivering consistent financial performance and ensuring cost efficiency. Leadership and Culture: Inspire and manage a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, support, and excellence. Skills and Competencies Required: Strong commercial background in relevant field Proven business management experience, preferably with a commercial background within textiles or related industries. Strong commercial leader with P&L experience, with demonstrable track record of growing and developing a business. A charismatic and likeable leader who clearly demonstrates an ability to empower and motivate a team. Exceptional skills in communication, motivation, and interpersonal relations, and able to convey a message that is understandable and relevant, linking business issues, financial results and strategy. The successful candidate will have experience of continuous improvement, lean management and a strong sense of accountability.
