Are you a skilled and experienced social worker looking to lead and support a dynamic team? Herefordshire Council is seeking a part-time Agency Social Worker to join as a Front Door Senior Practitioner.

The Role As the Front Door Senior Practitioner, you will:

Authorise key decision-making documents, from referrals into adult social care, to ensure quality and compliance.

Deliver advice and support for complex or sensitive referrals.

Collaborate on service improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and customer care.

Key Responsibilities

Line Management:

Provide operational support, supervise staff, and monitor workloads to maintain efficient service delivery.

Decision-Making:

Offer advice on complex cases, ensure decisions align with guidelines, and authorise documentation.

Training & Development:

Support team training, deliver inductions, and ensure the team remains updated on legal and policy frameworks.

Service Delivery:

Ensure a responsive, customer-focused service that meets high standards of care and professionalism.

What We’re Looking For

A qualified social worker with experience in frontline or referral-based adult social care/ health services.

Proven ability in a fast-paced environment.

Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with a focus on quality assurance.

Excellent interpersonal skills to support team members and collaborate effectively.
