The Role As the Technical Manager, you'll ensure the site meets all the big-ticket items: Legal compliance Customer expectations BRC standards Industry guidelines In short: You'll make sure everything they produce is safe, legal, and meets the high standards their customers expect.

Your leadership will drive the QA team to achieve technical and quality excellence, with systems and processes that stand up to scrutiny—and audits.

What you'll be doing:

Quality & HACCP Champion:

You'll own the site's Quality Management and HACCP systems, ensuring they're fully implemented and adhered to. Audit Star:

Lead the charge on BRC and customer audits, keeping the site “audit ready” at all times and managing any follow-ups with precision. Standards Guru:

Keep the business up to date with legislative changes and industry best practices, updating policies and procedures accordingly. Team Leader Extraordinaire:

Manage, support, and develop the QA team, ensuring everyone knows their role and is equipped to succeed. KPI Master:

Monitor and improve metrics like complaints, shelf life, and pest control, sharing results and driving continuous improvement. Process & Product Innovator:

Collaborate on new product development, making sure technical responsibilities are nailed.

What You'll Need This isn't just about ticking boxes. They're looking for someone who gets quality and compliance and can bring others on the journey.

Here's the essentials: Qualifications:

HACCP Level 3, Food Safety Level 3, and a full driving license. Experience: A background in fresh produce, prepared/chilled foods, or agriculture/horticulture. Knowledge of BRC and customer standards. Strong understanding of Office applications like Excel and PowerPoint. Skills: Communication and influencing - you'll need to get people on board with your ideas. Analytical - you're comfortable digging into data and turning it into actionable insights. Commercial awareness - you understand how technical decisions impact the bottom line.
