Why Do We Want You? Mercia, part of Wilmington plc, are recruiting for an experienced Team Leader to oversee the smooth planning and coordination of our training events. This is a hands-on role where you will lead a small team and ensure everything is in place for successful event delivery. Your role will focus on guiding the team day-to-day, managing schedules, and resolving any issues that arise. You'll also be the key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring communication runs smoothly and deadlines are met.

Job Purpose, Tasks, and Responsibilities: You will be responsible for: Line managing a small team, providing guidance, support, and direction. Overseeing the scheduling, coordination, and delivery of public training events. Acting as the main contact for client queries and escalating issues when needed. Working with venues, speakers, and suppliers to ensure events are well-organized. Monitoring feedback to identify areas for improvement and sharing updates with management. Handling routine reporting and administration tasks to support team efficiency. Coordinating with other departments on shared projects. What's the Best Thing About This Role? What's the Most Challenging Thing About This Role? Balancing multiple priorities and managing different stakeholder expectations can be demanding. You'll need to stay organized and adaptable to handle challenges that come with event planning and team management.

What We're Looking For: To be successful in this role, you must have: Proven line management experience, including team development. Solid experience in organizing and managing training events (virtual and in-person). Strong planning and scheduling skills with an eye for detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general IT tools. A proactive approach to problem-solving and managing multiple priorities. To be successful in this role, it would be great if you have: Experience in the accounting industry. Flexibility to travel occasionally within the UK for on-site event management. We know it's not a skill, but the successful candidate must have permission to work in the role's location by the start of their employment.
