This LSA role is in a specialist provision for children aged 11-19 who have experienced significant trauma, social, emotional, and mental health challenges. There is a strong focus on holistic and restorative practices, creating empathy wherever possible. Can you enhance the students' lives, keep them safe, and demonstrate the value of education? In addition, can you ensure the children's safety? As an aspiring clinical psychologist, over the course of 10 years of qualification, you will need to evaluate areas of genuine interest and identify where your skills need enhancement. Responsibilities: Support secondary-aged students with EHCPs, including those with Autism, OCD, and varying levels of social anxiety. Engage in physical work while being pragmatic, facilitating academic progress based on each child's context. Adapt to some anti-social behavior, which is part of the role when assisting society's most vulnerable children. All training and support will be provided by the school. Implement various therapies and holistic processes; even small progress is celebrated as success. Understand and support students with Pathological Demand Avoidance and Pervasive Developmental Disorder. Focus on the diverse cognitive abilities of each student. Encourage positive engagement, providing students with a sense of acceptance. Recognize that traditional talking therapy may not always be effective; different approaches will be required. Set objectives for students and promote as much independence as possible, especially for those in assisted living. Aspiring Youth Justice Worker - High Wycombe - Education and Training
