Astute's Renewables team is exclusively partnering with a market leader who manufactures and sells their own brand of inverter technology into the UK solar market to recruit a Field Service Engineer to cover the South of England and occasional further distance for business needs. The role will include onsite service and maintenance up and down the country on large-scale solar assets.

The strategically important Field Service Engineer role comes with a salary of up to £40k plus a Vehicle, Private Healthcare, and Life Insurance.

Responsibilities and Duties: Reporting to the Service Team Leader, you will: Provide independent on-site maintenance and repair of inverters for photovoltaic plants. Support large-scale projects with a focus on high/medium voltage products. Carry out training sessions for Field Service Engineers or the client's partners and providers. Analyze complex faults in PV plants from the office, home, or on-site. Discuss issues in the market with the Regional Senior Experts and provide feedback to the central hub. Answer and process incoming customer queries and error messages sent to the centralized service line on an ad hoc basis when required. Provide instant customer support to resolve issues on solar inverter systems from a remote location. Handle services on an ad-hoc basis, including managing sub-contractors and site-specific tasks, and be flexible and available for weekend on-call/standby when necessary.

Professional Qualifications:

We are looking for someone with the following: A higher education with an electrical bias, i.e., degree/HNC/HND and at least 17th edition. 3 years of experience servicing and maintaining inverter or power electronic systems. Ideally, very good knowledge of high voltage and measurement equipment as well as occupational health and safety regulations. Previous Solar PV maintenance experience is essential. Must be proficient in using MS Office and SAP, and have a basic understanding of IP network technology. UK driving licence.

Personal Skills:

The Field Service Engineer role would suit someone who is: Willing and flexible to travel with some overnight stays and attend training in Europe when required. Has very good English language skills; second language skills would be an asset.

Salary and Benefits:
