Key Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day finance operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Supervise a small finance team, providing mentorship and training support. Prepare and submit various HMRC returns to ensure compliance. Oversee payroll processes and payment runs. Monitor and report cash flow trends, escalating concerns when necessary. Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations. Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and other financial analysis and reporting tailored to specific business needs. Support budgeting and forecasting activities under senior leadership guidance. Identify areas for improving operational efficiency within accounting processes. Assist in implementing basic financial controls to reduce risks. Perform ad-hoc financial projects or team support tasks as business needs arise.

Skills and Experience Required

Solid experience in finance and accounting roles with some team supervision. Familiarity with SME finance operations, including VAT, payroll, and reconciliations. Proficiency with Sage accounting software and strong Excel skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
