You could be at the forefront of shaping strategies that make a difference to our clients in temporary accommodation. What’s the role? The Housing Services Directorate is looking to appoint a Temporary Accommodation Housing Management Team Leader to effectively manage the Temporary Accommodation Housing team responsible for the council’s temporary accommodation function, housing management of hostels and acquired properties, homelessness decision making, move on and resettlement into permanent accommodation. Successful management of this service area will ensure we deliver a high quality, customer-focused approach to housing management and continuous improvement and efficiency in the service delivery. In addition, you will ensure the service reduces the levels of rent arrears in temporary accommodation and proactively contribute to the council’s action plan to reduce the number of households in temporary accommodation. The Temporary Accommodation Housing Management Team Leader role would be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Temporary Accommodation Housing team as well as overseeing all the important functions of effective housing management and undertaking key Part 7 activities around Discharge of Duties, Notice to Quit and possession orders. You must have knowledge and understanding of the activities, functions, and processes involved with issuing DOD, NTQ, and Possession orders along with knowledge of Landlord and Tenant Legislation, the Housing Act 1985, and Protection from Eviction Act 1977. Whilst the service is primarily based in Laurence House, we operate a hybrid approach whereby you may be required to work both in the office and from home as determined by service requirements.
