Are you passionate about driving health and safety practices forward? Due to continued growth, our client is looking for an ambitious CDM Principal Designer to shape a diverse range of projects throughout the region, based out of the Leeds office. Sectors include residential, commercial, industrial, and public projects.

Teams work on various schemes as part of a multi-disciplinary consultancy, delivering principal designer and CDM services for a growing list of clients. As a senior within the team, you will be able to add real value and impact within the business. A huge part of the role is delivering services to our clients with the help of your expert knowledge. This is a delivery role, but you will also manage a small team, contribute to business development, and ultimately be the driving force in helping move the discipline forward within the industry. Within the role, you will have ownership over your projects; providing you with a great level of autonomy.

The Principal Designer Role

You will collaborate with design teams to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring that all projects meet regulatory requirements from inception to completion. You will be involved in managing design risk assessments, preparing pre-construction information (PCI), and overseeing the review of construction phase plans (CPP). The Principal Designer will work on diverse projects throughout the North, offering a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to enhance your career within a supportive environment. Proven experience as a Principal Designer within a consultancy environment Strong understanding of CDM 2015 regulations Background in design, architecture, or construction NEBOSH Construction Certificate APS or IOSH membership is desirable Excellent communication and client-facing skills Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
