An industry-leading food production business in Slough is seeking a dedicated and experienced Supply Chain Manager to join their dynamic operations team. Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Supplier Management:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and monitor supplier performance to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness. Inventory Management:
Oversee stock levels, implement effective inventory control processes, and review stock forecasts to support uninterrupted production. Warehousing:
Manage the storage and handling of materials and goods, ensuring efficient space utilisation and compliance with safety standards. Team Leadership:
Lead and supervise the supply chain team, providing direction, training, and support to foster a culture of accountability and efficiency. Collaboration & Coordination:
Work closely with production, quality assurance, and sales teams to align supply chain activities with business needs. Compliance & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records, conduct audits, and prepare reports on supply chain performance. Health & Safety:
Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations and identify potential risks. Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce costs, and implement industry best practices.
Candidate Profile:
Essential: Minimum 3 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably within the food manufacturing industry. Strong leadership and team development skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Desirable: Forklift licence or willingness to obtain one. Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience in high-care food environments.
Working Conditions:
Primarily office-based with regular interaction with production areas, warehouse facilities, and suppliers. May require early starts, late finishes, or weekend work to meet operational demands.
