DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Strategy, Policy & Insight (Function) are trusted thought-leaders bringing expert strategy, policy, market & audience insight – challenging and advising the business to drive delivery of Channel 4’s strategy and remit. The new centralised Audience Insights (Subfunction) purpose is to be independent thought leaders at the heart of Channel 4’s creative and commercial decision-making, bringing a single source of truth and big picture perspective, challenging and advising the business to ensure profitable business growth through the use of data.
JOB PURPOSE Working under the direction of an Analytics Lead, this role directs a large team (of around 7-9) Insight Analysts to source and prepare high-value analysis based on relevant data, innovative market, content, viewer or commercial analysis & insight for C-Suite and Senior Leader stakeholders to enable them to make profitable business decisions for C4. The team will be focussed on Viewing and Marketing data.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Negotiating an agreed portfolio of insight deliverables with the Insight BPs from across all 4 business pillars, this role allocates and oversees the Insight Analysts workstack.
Finalising and adding recommendations to the packaged data and drafting value-add summaries for communication to the respective business leader.
Responsible for overseeing quality assurance of the data and insight provided to ensure robust and accurate information.
Interpreting and translating data into insight outputs, ensuring easy understanding by stakeholders.
Deep specialism in Viewing and Marketing Analytics, collaborating with other Specialist Insight Managers.
Driving self-service capability to reduce repetitive analysis and improve stakeholder access.
Recommending innovations in insight approaches based on industry perspectives and data sets.
Contributing ideas to evolve the insight function’s impact and capabilities.
Leading and developing the team, coaching for excellence.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS / STAKEHOLDERS
Analytics Lead for direction and Insight BP’s for business requirements.
Responsible for a large team of Insight Analysts.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience of analytics leadership with multiple data sets.
Experience in managing a large team of analysts.
Good understanding of digital marketing and data-driven marketing best practices.
Strong business understanding of analytics in driving decisions.
Ability to coach for analysing data and breaking down complex questions.
Good understanding of big data and the ability to extract meaningful insights.
Advanced SQL skills on complex datasets.
Proficiency in TechEdge, Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, MS Office.
Strong storytelling skills to translate complex data into clear messages.
Collaboration skills to build a collaborative environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities under pressure.
Effective engagement with Insight BP’s when presenting findings.
Hybrid working From September 2023, C4 has operated a 60/40 working pattern, equating to three office days per week.
Salary
Basic salary starting at £84,000 dependant on experience.
