10pm - 8am (Weekend work included). Located in the village of Bussage, in Gloucestershire, Priory Newcombe Lodge is a 7-bedded transitional recovery service for female residents over the age of 13 - 18. This provision is part of Priory’s transitional living services for young people and young adults, offering individuals the best possible care in their recovery journey. Newcombe Lodge is a large detached house, which offers a viable alternative to a hospital or secure setting. It achieves this through a high ratio of care, which enables a robust and proactive approach to risk management, whilst supporting people to engage with meaningful activity in the community. Our Healthcare Division offers a variety of services including Mental Health, Addictions, Brain Injury and Rehabilitation and Recovery treatment plans. At Priory, you'll be part of a close-knit and diverse team that helps individuals day to day, encouraging them to live as independently as possible. You will help people reach their full potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives. Your positive attitude and genuine passion for providing high-quality care and support will be integral to the culture of our teams. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support. While previous experience is a plus, the key things you need to excel in this role are empathy, a passion for caring, flexibility, and a strong sense of responsibility. Responsibilities: Support our residents with in-house activities and hobbies Providing support to achieve everyday goals including personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating, and toileting Manage some behaviours that challenge Assist and support to attend medical appointments Observe, monitor and record physical and emotional well-being, and promptly report any changes to senior staff Provide emotional support to individuals and their families Support and monitor healthcare needs, including administering medication and temperature checks Understand communication needs and adapt your communication to each individual Work with other professionals, such as nurses and therapists, to ensure consistency of support Analyse an individual’s needs and draw up a focused support plan Qualifications and Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature Empathy, understanding, and patience Ability to work on your own and as part of a team Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges Competent in verbal and written English A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential To be considered for this role, we require you to have the right to work in the UK. Disclosure: All roles will be subject to a successful disclosure at an appropriate level from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Access NI or Disclosure Scotland, and the cost of this will be covered by Priory.
