Southampton, United Kingdom | Posted on 13/01/2025 You love digital electronics and want to start your career with a company that's as committed to your development as you are. Joining our Hardware Engineering team gives you the opportunity to use your existing skills to develop technology that has a positive impact on millions of people every day. We work with our customers in a wide variety of industries to develop everything from entire systems to individual software, hardware, or FPGA components. In this role, you will be implementing and integrating FPGA IP Blocks, testing and debugging FPGA code, and ensuring designs are developed according to the relevant standards. You're going to be developing for a wide variety of applications and industries, fast-tracking your skills and knowledge. As part of our small, friendly, supportive team, you're going to learn quickly and be given all the help you need to make a success of your career as an Electronics Engineer. We provide in-depth, structured training. You will have your own personal development plan, a mentor, your IET membership fees paid, and can be supported in working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer. Our company culture and way of working was recognised at the South Coast Tech Awards where we won the 'Tech Employer of the Year' category in 2019 and were finalists again in 2023 and 2024, with special mention given to the way we support professional development. About you We're looking for people who love problem-solving; who bring a new approach; who think 'there must be a better way'. You need to have a bachelor's at 2:1 or 1st in electronics engineering from a top university (you may have also gone on to do a master's or PhD). You also need to have a practical problem-solving approach and an inquisitive approach to work and learning. Our team loves learning and picking up new skills, so we're looking for people that can demonstrate how they excel in this area. You must have experience in FPGA design, implementation, and optimisation using VHDL, Verilog, or System Verilog, and knowledge of hardware debugging and verification methodologies. You must already be eligible to work in the UK and willing to work in our Southampton office most days.

Homeworking may be possible for computer-based tasks once you are up to speed; however, you will need to work in the office when working with hardware and laboratory equipment, which is typical for many electronics projects. Pay and benefits Salary £34 - 38k. Reviewed every 6 months in the first two years. Uncapped annual profit share scheme. You are eligible for this from day 1 of your employment (pro-rated in the first year). 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays). Option to purchase or sell up to 5 days' holiday. We are IET Business Partners, so we pay your membership fees and can help you on the path to becoming a Chartered Engineer. You will have a mentor who will help you with your personal development objectives. Learning and development support. We assess your development needs and support you to develop your knowledge and skills further. We offer training, including access to online courses using Pluralsight and Udemy. Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) to help our staff keep physically and mentally healthy and safe whilst at work. Other benefits including Perks At Work, Employee Recognition Programme, Long Service Awards, Payroll Giving Scheme, and several more!
