You will join an established team, supporting the collaboratives and working closely with many of the Trusts corporate teams.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for ensuring that all managers, clinicians and senior nurses within the Directorates and Collaboratives have access to accurate and reliable quality, safety, clinical effectiveness and risk data to inform the delivery of the highest standards of clinical care and patient experience.

You will lead and support staff, patients and their relatives through our just culture and human factors approach, to patient safety and incident investigations in order that we can ensure the patients voice is heard when we are celebrating our successes and collectively learning when we need to.

You will support on risk management and ensure the systems of internal control within the Directorates and Collaboratives are effective. A key part of the role will be to accurately analyse data to support evidence based solutions to improve patient care and oversee the necessary actions required to evidence our improvement journey.

Undertaking this role will be both rewarding and challenging, requiring excellent analytical, interpersonal and self-motivation skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of colleagues in a variety of settings. You will have unrivalled drive, energy and determination, coupled with a proven track record of working with clinical and non-clinical staff of all levels to deliver quality which is of the highest quality and which is clinically effective.

Leadership and Improvement Training

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff. This training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the following training sessions:

Your Leadership Impact Leading your Team to Success Leading Into the Future Service Improvement for Beginners Developing your Service Improvement Skills Lean Practitioner

The leadership and improvement programme aims to: Explore leadership within the NHS Promote Trust values and behaviours Develop your leadership effectiveness and skills Equip staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to lead and complete service improvements within the scope of your role.

After you complete these six and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities. We also offer a range of additional in-house and externally provided courses and bitesize programmes through our Leadership and Improvement Team.

Qualifications

Essential Degree in relevant field Educated to master's level degree in a relevant field or willingness to work towards, starting within 1 year of appointment Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development in relevant fields

Desirable Clinical Qualification, with current registration, e.g. NMC / HPC A professional qualification in one of the following areas: Patient Safety, Patient Experience, Clinical Effectiveness, Risk Management, or Leadership

Experience

Essential Senior management experience including the management of teams to deliver results. Experience of managing complex systems and processes to drive delivery of high-quality outcomes Presenting and using performance information to improve key targets with demonstrable results Demonstrable experience of Project management Demonstrable experience of Change management Demonstrable experience of Risk management

Desirable Previous NHS management experience.

Personal Attributes

Essential Customer service focus Able to work autonomously as well as within a team.
