Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship or Early Years Educator

Apprenticeship duration: 15-18 months Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Apprentice to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education and eager to gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment. The Apprentice will work closely with experienced professionals to develop skills in tutoring, mentoring, and supporting children, particularly those with special educational needs, including autism. Responsibilities Assist in educating and tutoring children, ensuring they receive the support they need to thrive academically. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a collaborative learning environment. Work closely with individuals on the autism spectrum, employing tailored strategies to enhance their learning experience. Participate in mentoring activities, providing guidance and encouragement to students. Support special education initiatives by helping to implement individualised education plans (IEPs). Attend training sessions and workshops to improve skills and knowledge in special education practices. Requirements You must be a UK resident or have a visa that will support you for the duration of your apprenticeship. GCSEs in English and maths at Grade C (4) or above or able to achieve Level 2 English and maths whilst on programme. We use an online platform (BUD) that helps you learn the topics and skills, reflect on your practice, and build your portfolio. Candidates are not required to attend college; instead, this will include off-the-job training hours used throughout this apprenticeship. These OTJH will be within working hours of Employment - e.g., 30+ hours per week = 6 hours per week OTJH, less than 30 hours is 20% OTJH. You will also receive one-to-one support and tuition from your apprenticeship tutor; this tutor will make in-person visits to you at the nursery or schedule online meetings every 5-6 weeks. Progression after this apprenticeship: As well as ensuring full competency as a Teaching Assistant, this programme provides a foundation for potential progression into several career paths in the educational sector including Higher Level Teaching Assistant, Assistant Teacher, and Teacher.
