The Black Sun Global Advisory team is looking for candidates with strong interest in financial and corporate communications, to join us in advising our exceptionally strong client base of FTSE 100 and 250 companies on their corporate and sustainability reporting requirements.
The Black Sun Advisory team works closely with regulators, industry bodies and our clients to ensure we are able to provide the highest standards of advice and support on all aspects of corporate and sustainability reporting. Primarily focusing upon Annual Reports, we help companies navigate the regulatory landscape from the new Corporate Governance Code to latest trends in integrated and digital-first reporting. In addition, boards are increasingly expected – and required – to incorporate sustainability considerations, including ESG-related issues, climate action and net zero transition plans, into their decision-making at a strategic and operational level along with compliance with ISSB and CSRD regulations.
The successful candidate will be a key member of our 11-strong Advisory team and will work closely with all parts of the Black Sun Global business – contributing to Black Sun Global’s award-winning thought leadership and best practice consultancy services and helping to win new business, developing strategic roadmaps for clients and delivering high quality projects on-time.

Key Responsibilities
Client work
Working with our clients to shape their corporate reporting suite in line with current and forthcoming disclosure requirements demonstrating an excellent understanding of the regulatory reporting landscape. Providing best practice strategic advice on corporate reporting, ESG and wider communication to clients and new business prospects, using your expertise and knowledge to help shape clients’ communications strategies. Developing strategic communications presentations and interim assessments of Annual Reports supported by peer analysis; benchmarking; content audits and guidelines; and ad hoc consultancy work, including taking an active role in presentations to senior stakeholders at our clients. Conducting deep dive research into the corporate communications of Black Sun Global clients to assess their current communications approach, content and overall effectiveness. Participation in client workshops, presentations and external events on best practice communication with a particular focus on topics such as strategy, ESG, climate, corporate governance and relevant regulation. Help presenting Black Sun’s wider communications offer to existing Black Sun clients and demonstrate the value of developing an impactful communications framework and plan, beyond simply disclosing or reporting data and information. Working closely with other consultants in the team to develop key processes, methodologies and best practice approaches. Providing guidance, education, support and expertise to other internal teams as required, ensuring the account teams are well equipped to drive discussions with clients. Business development
Helping pitch for and win new business, with existing and new prospects as relevant. Research and thought leadership
Helping develop and deliver Black Sun’s own research and benchmarking. Contributing to the development of Black Sun’s impressive thought leadership and editorial productions. Assisting in conducting data collection and research for external workstreams such as materiality assessments. Skills and experience required
A strong interest in business issues and company news in particular. Experience in communication roles, preferably in corporate reporting or financial PR. Familiarity with Annual Reports as produced by quoted UK companies and what makes for effective reporting and communication of strategic and operational information to investors and other stakeholders. Familiarity with the UK corporate reporting and regulatory environment for investor and ESG communications, including Annual and Sustainability Reports. Interest in or knowledge of relevant reporting frameworks (including TCFD, ISSB, CSRD and the UK Corporate Governance Code). Personal qualities required
A rounded individual that has a keen interest in strategic and commercial business matters more widely, the issues affecting investors’ interests in particular and the role corporate reporting plays in these areas. Takes ownership of work with an ambition to self-improve and excel. Has an ambition to learn and build a specialist knowledge of reporting requirements and best practice application in corporate and ESG reporting. Works as part of a team. Shows attention to detail.
