Our commitment to a flexible and hybrid working culture The Financial Accountant, reporting to the Head of Finance Compliance & Control, is responsible for managing regulatory accounting processes, preparing external reports, and handling complex accounting tasks. Key duties include producing regulatory accounts, supporting external audits, and providing technical accounting guidance. The Role Own and manage the regulatory accounting process, working with the commercial, operational and record to close finance teams, to ensure that transactions can be segmented and allocations undertaken to enable the production of regulatory accounts. Produce the supporting analysis/evidence, assisted by the Compliance Analyst, in line with the RAPM (Regulatory Accounting Principles and Methodologies), ensuring clean audit reports and filing in line with relevant deadlines. Undertake regular review of the RAPM as required, including stakeholder management of the Adjudicator. In conjunction with the Head of FC&C and Finance Manager- Reporting, manage the external audits, including management of audit / stakeholder relationships including appointed external auditors, Adjudicator, the Audit and Risk Committee and any Appointed Accountants as required ensuring clean audit reports and filing in line with relevant deadlines. Undertake annual review of the effectiveness of the Internal Regulatory Accounts Control Framework. In conjunction with the wider finance team ensure business changes are enacted so as to maintain the integrity of the regulatory reporting. Keep up to date with changes in generally accepted accounting principles and external audit requirements, ensuring Arqiva's RAPM policies are compliant. Support the Head of FC&C in the provision of pro-active technical financial accounting guidance, within the context of the impact to Regulatory Accounts as well as internal and external reporting, in order to advise the business in structuring compliant commercial agreements for the group. Regular review of complex contracts and judgement areas to ensure appropriate accounting and provisioning. Undertake ad hoc special accounting projects in support of the groups strategic plans as required, with a view to potential impacts on the Regulated Accounts. The Person Strong track record of technical accounting and financial control including engagement with external auditors. Extensive knowledge of current technical accounting principles including the accounting for complex contracts. Significant knowledge and use of Microsoft Office particularly Excel. Business analytics and report writing capabilities and experience at working at board level and managing external stakeholder relationships. Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA). Why join Arqiva?
