Director of Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW) - (6 Month Contract) Day Rate:

Hybrid - Reading and sites across London, Thames Valley, and home counties Purpose of the Role: My client works with over 16 million customers daily and aims to deliver sustainable solutions for current and future challenges. The Director of Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW) will elevate HSW performance, foster a culture of safety, and drive continuous improvement. This role requires strategic leadership to influence stakeholders internally and externally for transformational impact. Key Responsibilities: Integrate HSW into Operations:

Partner with the COO and AO&CD Leadership to embed HSW in decision-making and operational priorities. Develop an HSW Strategy:

Create and implement a multi-year roadmap for continuous improvement and cultural change, positioning the business as an industry leader. Oversee Governance and Compliance:

Maintain governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and report progress to the Executive Team and Board. Lead and Develop the HSW Team:

Manage a team of 90 professionals, fostering collaboration and a high-performance culture. Represent with regulatory bodies to maintain compliance and address key issues. Monitor Compliance:

Ensure statutory compliance through audits and collaborate on findings to implement improvements. Deliver Data-Driven Insights:

Provide actionable insights via high-quality reports to enhance organizational performance. Lead initiatives to embed behavioral safety and improve attitudes across all levels of the organization. Oversee investigations of significant incidents, ensuring lessons learned are implemented. Develop initiatives to support employee health and productivity with measurable outcomes. Collaborate with Third Parties:

Ensure robust HSW practices through partnerships with contractors and other stakeholders. Key Relationships: CEO and Board: Provide updates and strategic input on HSW. Executive Team: Align HSW strategy with organizational priorities. Employees and Stakeholders: Foster a culture of safety and engagement. Regulatory Bodies: Maintain strong relationships and ensure compliance. Budget and Team Scope: Revenue Budget: £8 million Financial Responsibilities: Manage the H&S budget effectively. Strategic Considerations: Reports directly to the CEO and interacts with the Executive Team weekly. Expected to attend board and sub-committee meetings. Demonstrates personal leadership, accountability, and collaboration as outlined in the "Leading with Purpose" framework. Qualifications and Experience: Chartered Membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health. Proven track record in HSW strategies within complex, safety-critical environments. Strong skills in stakeholder engagement and cultural change management. Analytical expertise with a comprehensive knowledge of HSE regulations. Transformational leadership and crisis management. Leading change initiatives to embed HSW in organizational transformation. Compensation Package: Day rate – dependent on experience (Inside IR35).
