Overview of the role

Due to expansion, we are hiring a Quality Officer to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for supporting the quality team and the wider organisation in the maintenance and continual improvement of all of UK Biobank’s quality and ISMS certifications and accreditations. The role will be ‘customer’ facing and will require engagement with all UK Biobank Quality stakeholders. Your principal duties will include: Responding to all queries that come into the Quality inbox Promoting and monitoring compliance of company Policies and SOPs Supporting document control activities to ensure reviews are performed, change requests are considered and implemented, new versions are approved in a timely manner and version control is consistent Working with process owners and team leads to ensure training records are approved, maintained and remain appropriate Reviewing and approval of operational training Assisting with internal and external audits Assisting with investigating and reporting non-conformances and CAPAs Checking the implementation and effectiveness of CAPA framework Reviewing and monitoring supplier requests and input into SAGE Triaging and escalating critical supplier to appropriate stakeholder for approval Developing and running required routine and

ad-hoc

reports Working hours are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, hybrid working is available. Located in Greater Manchester (initially based in Stockport with a move to Manchester Science Park mid to late 2026).

Reporting to the wider Quality Team, you will have: Knowledge and understanding of QA systems, Quality Management tools and related processes Knowledge and experience in working to ISO 9001, 27001, 20387 and relevant UKAS standards A strong customer focus; able to form strong collaborative working relationships Excellent communication skills – written and verbal; able to design and produce reports and dashboards Qualifications in certified 9001/27001 requirements course Management system monitoring and reporting experience Experience of identifying, analyzing and resolving non-conformities Proficiency in using Microsoft suite Experience using eQMS software Our passion for diversity and equality means creating a work environment for all employees that is welcoming, respectful, engaging, and enriched with opportunities for personal and professional development.
