Our Client has a requirement for an

EICA Design Engineer , who will be required to work on a contract basis in Derby. This role is hybrid and will require 2 days a week in the office in Derby. Role Purpose: Electrical Engineer To produce cost-effective, technically compliant, and buildable Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation (EICA) designs for water and sewage treatment projects, ensuring seamless handover to construction teams within agreed timelines. Job Role Responsibilities: Electrical Engineer Develop Outline and Detailed EICA designs that meet client specifications and can be purchased, installed, and commissioned effectively. Coordinate design outputs across all technical disciplines to ensure project efficiency. Produce and check design deliverables, including specifications, schedules, drawings, and calculations. Ensure designs comply with CDM regulations and health, safety, and environmental standards. Collaborate with construction teams and supply chain representatives to enhance buildability and supply efficiency. Maintain project records and prepare monthly status reports. Provide technical input for proposals and assist in estimating project costs. Supervise and mentor junior team members as needed. Ensure designs minimize waste and consider environmental impacts. Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications: Relevant engineering degree or HND with 5+ years of experience in a design and build environment. Proven experience in EICA design and delivery for water and sewage treatment plants. Membership or near-membership of a professional institution. Strong understanding of water treatment processes and associated disciplines (mechanical, process, and electrical engineering). Proficiency in presenting technical proposals and computer literacy. Valid driving license for site visits. Chartered Engineer status or working towards it. Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline. 5+ years of water industry experience.
