Macmillan Welfare Benefits Adviser

to join our team. This role is perfect for a dedicated individual with excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for helping individuals and families navigate financial challenges during difficult times. As part of this role, you will provide a holistic advice service on welfare benefits, employment, housing, and other relevant areas to people affected by cancer. Advice will be delivered face-to-face in hospital settings, at local Citizens Advice office, and over the phone. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive welfare benefits advice to people affected by cancer, including help with applications and navigating appeals. Deliver additional advice on housing, employment, and general financial matters. Manage your own caseload efficiently, ensuring timely and accurate support for clients. Work to project targets, contributing to the overall success of the partnership program. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in line with confidentiality and data protection requirements. Collaborate with colleagues, external stakeholders, and Macmillan Cancer Support to provide the best possible outcomes for clients. Attend regular supervision and training to support your professional development. Our ideal candidate will: Have an understanding of the impact of cancer on individuals and families. Possess experience in managing caseloads in a client-facing advice role. Have experience in welfare benefits advice work. Be self-motivated, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Be confident in using IT systems and digital platforms to manage and deliver advice. Be committed to delivering high-quality advice to clients in a busy environment.
