The successful candidate must be confident in all aspects of treatment room procedures including smears and baby immunisations. Initially, the post is for one day a week with the potential to work extra days to cover holidays and sickness within the team. Experience of chronic disease management (COPD/asthma, diabetes, hypertension) would be advantageous but is not essential. Main duties of the job

Provide nursing treatment to patients as per booked appointments. Dressings, smears, stitch removal, injections and immunizations. Phlebotomy, ECGs and Dopplers. Deliver personalized, general healthcare advice during the course of consultations. Ensure treatment rooms are kept clean and tidy with appropriate stock levels after every clinic. About us

The Hereward Practice, Bourne is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and hard-working practice nurse to join our busy team; someone who is reliable and flexible, who enjoys providing high-quality care to patients and who is able to start seeing patients independently immediately. Job responsibilities

Provide assessment and treatment, screening treatment services, and health education services. Provide nursing treatments to patients in participation with general practitioners or independently to agreed protocols. Provide general and specific health screenings to patients with agreed protocols with referral to GP as necessary. Advise patients on general healthcare and minor ailments with referral to GP as necessary. Treatments to include dressings, smears, stitch removal, injections, and immunizations. In conjunction with the nursing team, ensure the maintenance of treatment room equipment and stock levels relating to patient care. Pathological specimens

Undertake the collection of pathological specimens including intravenous blood samples, swabs, smears, etc. Perform any investigatory procedures requested by the GPs within the boundaries of personal qualification and competency. Administrative and professional responsibilities

Ensure accurate notes of all consultations and treatments are recorded contemporaneously in the patients' electronic records. Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient health care and registration with the practice. Ensure collection and maintenance of statistical information required for regular and ad hoc reports. Attend and participate in practice meetings as required. Maintain confidentiality at all times as required by the NMC. Maintain effective liaison with other staff and external agencies concerned with patient care with appropriate regard to confidentiality. Maintain continuous education by completing the mandatory online training modules plus attendance at courses or study days as deemed useful or necessary for professional development. Experience

Experience of working in Primary Care. Experience of working in an independent role, treating patients. Experience of managing/dealing with the public patients. Demonstrates the ability to manage clinical risk and an understanding of health care governance systems. Experience of using System One. Qualifications

Registered Nurse. Evidence of continued professional development. Formal training in smear taking. Ability to administer Zoladex Prostap and Depo injections. Experience in administering children's immunisations. Accredited training in chronic disease management; diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
