A welcoming and supportive secondary school in Enfield is looking for a SEN TA for a January start. You will be working solely with 1-2 students with SEN and other additional needs. The students are learning at primary level, despite being secondary aged. As a SEN TA, you will be working closely with these students through teaching, engaging them in crafts and other activities, and providing support. The school is looking for someone who is nurturing, empathetic, and patient. You will also need to be proactive and able to adapt. Forming strong relationships with the students is key.

As a SEN TA, you will be supporting children aged 11-16 with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The staff are close-knit and have a mutually respectful relationship with the student body. This is a full-time, long-term position within a warm and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Providing one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN, both in and out of the classroom. Implementing tailored learning strategies and interventions as directed by the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator). Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to ensure the individual needs of students are met effectively. Assisting with the planning and delivery of differentiated activities to support student progress. Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.

Requirements:

Previous experience working in an SEN role, preferably within a school setting. Enhanced DBS on the update service. Right to work in the UK. Strong understanding of various Special Educational Needs and associated support strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents/carers.
