Learning Mentors required for SEN school in Croydon and Beckenham.
Classroom Support are excited to be working with an SEN school with sites in Croydon and Beckenham who are looking to recruit several Learning Support Mentors.
The schools support students from KS1 to KS5 with SEN and complex learning difficulties. The environment can be very challenging in terms of behaviour; however, the senior leadership team looks to promote staff members that work hard and make a lasting positive impact on their students. There are huge opportunities to progress.
The positions will start on a temporary basis with the option of going permanent after a number of weeks working at the school through Classroom Support.
It is essential that you have some of the below experience: Experience of supporting children/young adults with Challenging Behaviour A keen understanding of being able to create bonds with students that have had challenging backgrounds and to be able to quickly build trust Supported pupils with ASD and ADHD Experience supporting students within SEN schools or candidates with a mental health support/young offender's background would be strong candidates Being of a firm nature when necessary Any experience of restraint training is highly advantageous but not necessary Solid knowledge and experience supporting students with complex support needs in 1:1 or group settings is also advantageous
The rate of pay is £85+ per day for the right candidates. Temp to perm after 12 academic weeks.
