Advanced Clinical Practitioner - Emergency Department The post holder will be practising autonomously as a qualified advanced practitioner within the Emergency Department to provide patient-centred clinical care. This will encompass the skills of advanced clinical assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice throughout the directorate.

The post holder will support new ways of working that emphasises a more efficient and patient-focused service, and will ensure the safe treatment, referral and discharge of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations in their area.

Main duties of the job The post holder will deliver an 80% clinical component to their role. 20% will be related to clinical professional development underpinned by the advanced practice framework with an expectation to undertake & complete the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM) e-portfolio to become credentialed. Clinical professional development; Supervised Clinical support, appraisal, clinical audit, teaching, self-development and research allocation will be individualised & time allocation will be directed by an agreed job plan & in alignment with departmental Advanced Practice framework & progression pathway agreed with the Consultant ACP & EM Clinical director.

Person Specification Education & Qualifications

Professional Registration

Non-Medical prescribing course

MSc in clinical practice

Knowledge

Advanced clinical practice skills

Evidence of research and audit

Evidence of implementing change

Evidence of dissemination of knowledge in wider healthcare organisations

Experience

Post-registration experience at a senior level (band 6 or above) in a speciality area

Ability to work independently

Skills & Abilities

Strong leadership skills

Able to problem solve and make decisions

Sound clinical judgment in identifying and ordering diagnostic tests / interventions

Clinical assessment of healthcare needs

Contract Permanent

Working pattern Full-time

Salary £53,755 to £60,504 a year per annum pro rata
