Do you think you have the right skills to progress within the business? Torque Consulting are on the hunt for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their highly skilled team to support Junior Engineers, drive improvement in quality and efficiency, and create and maintain electrical drawings.
Principal Accountabilities
Specification of electrical components/wiring/cabling
Create and maintain electrical drawings and documentation
Work with shop floor team to commission and fault find new equipment
Support junior engineers, installation team, and end customers
Validate new designs through prototyping
Drive improvements in quality and efficiency within the technical department
Communicate effectively across departments and disciplines
Work within company quality and safety procedures
Knowledge and Experience
Qualified to HNC Level or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or similar
Comfortable with variable frequency drives and PLCs
Capable of using CAD software to create electrical schematics
Computer literate with strong working knowledge of Excel
Comfortable interacting across the business
Confident discussing projects with various stakeholders
Able to work from heights for occasional site visits
Able to manage own workload in a fast-paced environment
Degree qualified or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
5+ years’ experience in a similar industry
Experience working to National/European Standards (e.g. BS EN 60204, UL508)
Experience working in the crane/hoist sector or similar material handling environments
Knowledge of Functional Safety
