The Role As a Tendering Engineer within HVSS Special Projects, you will be responsible for the sales and tendering of a portfolio of Private Network tenders. The scopes to be tendered will predominantly include the design, installation, and maintenance of customer-owned ‘High Voltage’ electrical networks. You will be accountable for the timely delivery of your tenders, ensuring the quality and commercial accuracy of tendered works. Building client relationships is essential, and you should be comfortable providing technical advice and meeting clients face to face while delivering error-free and articulate bids. The tendering process will comply with HVSS ISO 9001. All Special Projects resources may, at times, be required to be hybrid roles in terms of tendering, design development, and/or delivery, subject to their knowledge, understanding, and competence. The works area may be within the Midlands region but could also extend to the wider United Kingdom. You will be accountable for project change control, which includes raising respective quotations. Key Responsibilities Support the Special Projects (Private Networks) Contracts Lead and Senior Tendering Engineer. Represent HVSS in a professional, timely, and articulate manner to all stakeholders. Ensure that all Special Projects tenders within your charge are prioritized and returned within the agreed timeframes, compliant or appropriately qualified, and when secured, carried through promptly to hand over to the projects team. Proactively manage risk during the creation of the offering. Achieve your individual project tendering quantity goals along with any yearly sales target. Contribute positively to the overall Special Projects sales target. Maintain Sales/Project Handover specific documentation in line with the company’s BMS. Maintain a Continual Professional Development (CPD) strategy. Experience & Qualities Essential: A desire to succeed. Experience of working within a fast-paced utility/construction/services engineering sales team environment. Proven experience of achieving sales targets. An understanding of tendering construction projects within MEICA/Utility Technical Construction Environment and/or T&D networks. NVQ Level 3 qualification in technical sales, engineering, construction, and/or management, or equivalent knowledge, training, and experience. An understanding of Construction, Design & Management Regulations 2015. Design development experience. Proven experience in delivering robust quotation outputs. AutoCAD competence. Competence with Word/Excel/PowerPoint. Microsoft Project competence to deliver simple tendering (baseline) programmes. EUSR/CSCS/ECS certification. First Aid at Work Certificate. Desirable: Experience of tendering LV Industrial Electrical installation, EV charging, and/or renewable energy solutions. Experience of tendering Primary iDNO Substations and/or Grid connections or alike. MIET or working towards it. Experience in working within a technical construction sales and estimating team. An understanding of construction projects that fall within the classification of “notifiable” under the Construction, Design & Management Regulations 2015. Knowledge and/or experience of working with ‘Trimble’ or equivalent. Project management experience. Perks & Commitments: Full-time, permanent role. Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (40 hours per week). 25 days holiday + bank holidays as standard. Up to 3 extra days holiday for long service – 2 years +1, 5 years +1, 10 years +1. The option to purchase an additional 5 days holiday per year. 5% employer pension contribution. 2x Death in Service Cover. Cycle to work scheme. Private health cover, half paid for by us, and fully paid after 3 years.
