We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Sonographer who can provide professional clinical and operational leadership for the Ultrasound service at Countess of Chester Hospital to join our friendly hard working ultrasound team. The department undertakes seven day working and the successful candidate would be expected to undertake evening and weekend duties where required. Applicants must hold a recognised ultrasound qualification (PgCert, PgDip or Direct-Entry Masters) and be eligible to work in the United Kingdom with HCPC/NMC/ equivalent registration. Main duties of the job

This post will involve managing and leading the Ultrasound service: Providing professional clinical and operational leadership Being responsible for the day-to-day management of all aspects of the Ultrasound service at Countess of Chester and Ellesmere Port Hospitals, and GP community satellite units and all its team members Performing a lead role in the implementation of service development and the provision of a high quality ultrasound service, developing and commissioning service provision whilst monitoring performance against agreed targets Remaining clinically active by participating in the ultrasound staff duty rota, scanning and independently reporting own workload of patients, providing written reports to the referring clinician. Qualification

DCR/BSc Diagnostic Radiography with HCPC registration or BSc Medical Ultrasound/Clinical Technology with RCT registration Post Graduate Qualification in Ultrasound or equivalent to master level Leadership/management training Knowledge and Experience

Possess high level, specialist anatomical and clinical knowledge over a wide range of ultrasound procedures. Evidence of ability to manage Demonstrate the ability to provide guidance, support and mentorship to less experienced ultrasound practitioners and clinical staff. Excellent working knowledge of hospital PACS, RIS and EPR systems. Evidence of staff supervision/management Skills & Abilities

Demonstrate excellent organisational skills in both daily management duties as well as long term planning and development projects. Ability to demonstrate the Trust core values and behavioural standards in day-to-day approach to work Disclosure and Barring Service Check
