Purpose of the Post To provide an age-appropriate, high-quality service to children and young people aged 13-22 who have experienced domestic abuse, with a particular focus on those aged 16 and above. To address the growing need for support among young individuals experiencing domestic abuse in their own relationships, including crisis intervention, advocacy, and life skills development. To meet legal requirements, Dundee Women’s Aid (DWA) standards, and policies while promoting DWA’s work in the local and wider community. To collaborate with young people, families, and external agencies to ensure a comprehensive, person-centred approach to addressing domestic abuse. To support the Senior Children’s Services Domestic Abuse Practitioner, CEO, Depute CEO and colleagues in achieving DWA objectives and identifying areas for improvement. Application notes

Are you passionate about children and children’s rights? Do you enjoy working with children and do you have experience of working with children who have experienced trauma? We are looking for a CYP Outreach and Prevention Worker to join our team and provide vital support to children dealing with the trauma of domestic abuse. Our service is delivered to school age children, predominantly in a school environment. You will provide therapeutic 1-1 and focused group work to children and young people ensuring the service is driven by them and their needs. You will also deliver our unique prevention programme to schools across Glasgow to educate children and young people about domestic abuse in an age appropriate way. Minimum Requirements: Experience of supporting children and young people who have experienced gender-based violence. A qualification relevant to working with children and young people, such as SVQ Level 3 Social Service (Children and Young People). A commitment to the feminist analysis of domestic abuse and to the values of Glasgow Women’s Aid. A driving license and access to a car.
