We require an experienced Commercial Manager to join our Canterbury team to support us in delivering our upcoming projects. This role will encompass providing commercial support to elements of our business and includes preparation of contractual notices, advice on contractual positions, management of claims and supporting the growth of our project management team in this space. You'll be responsible for working with all levels of management to support them with their finance and commercial requirements.

In addition to the above you will:

Monitor, review and report on project performance.

Assist our project teams in identifying, preparing and resolving variations.

Ensure our projects have robust and accurate forecasts of costs and revenue as well as accurate risk and opportunity registers that reflect contractual position.

Assist with dispute resolution with subcontractors and clients as necessary.

Assist in training and development of project management and quantity surveying teams.

Assist the regional commercial manager with the preparation of business cases and business analysis and any other adhoc tasks as required.

Lead improvements and initiatives to enable efficient and effective processes, systems and procedures.

We're looking for someone with:

Significant industry experience.

Strong technical knowledge around NZS3910 and similar contracts.

Experience in preparing contractual variations, notices and claims.

Commercial awareness and financial acumen with the ability to balance strategic and operational activities.

People leader with a strong team-focus and the ability to coach, guide, develop and lead effectively.

Time management skills with the ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.

Experience identifying, implementing and leading process improvements.

Strong stakeholder focus and ability to communicate professionally and effectively at various levels, building strong relationships both externally and internally.

Proactive, organised and hands-on approach with the ability to work well as a team and on own initiative.
