Support the Clinical Lead for Neurology and the Band 7 Therapy Team in the planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating the Therapy service provided to patients within the Neuro rehab unit on a day-to-day basis. To take a major role for the Therapy team in the assessment and treatment of patients within the Neuro rehab Unit who may have complex and/or chronic presentations. To manage a daily clinical caseload of neurology patients, and be responsible for the assessment, treatment, and management of these patients and to give specialised therapy advice to members of the MDT. To deputise for Band 7 Therapists on clinical and managerial issues within the team. To be actively involved with training within the Department. Take part in the respiratory on-call rota. The working days will need to include Thursday and Friday, due to service needs. Main duties of the job

Senior Physiotherapists work closely with all users of our services and their families, friends, and carers who all play an invaluable contribution in how our users experience our services. Senior Physiotherapists are expected to be kind and responsive but professional and informative and contribute to the quality of the services provided across the health economy by: Keeping the people who use our services as safe as possible through the use of sound clinical skills and effective risk assessments. Ensuring the best possible clinical outcomes by using up-to-date skills and adhering to evidence-based policies and procedures. Ensuring the people using our services have a good experience by respecting, empowering, and working in partnership with people throughout the care planning process. Physiotherapists who work in all these services require a range of core skills as follows: Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of holistic therapy intervention. Good communication skills to contribute to multidisciplinary team working and support patients' rehabilitation goals and plans. Collaborative working with our community colleagues to ensure timely transfer of information and coordinated discharge planning. About us

Our Therapy service is a dynamic and exciting team that works across our three main sites at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate, and Kent and Canterbury Hospital in Canterbury, as well as supporting patients across our satellite sites. We form part of close MDT working on all the wards and the therapy team are key team members in the rehabilitation of patients and discharge planning. Qualifications

BSc Physiotherapy Relevant Postgraduate training within Stroke/Neurology Registered with the HCPC Member of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Member of a Professional Network recognised by the CSP, e.g., ACPIN Skills

Evidence of clinical skills in neurology/stroke Excellent written and verbal communication skills Evidence of clinical skills in Respiratory Physiotherapy Supervision/training of Band 5 therapists/support staff Experience

Postgraduate experience in relevant specialist area of neuro/stroke Proven record of providing high-quality intervention to maximise independence Evidence of working in an acute hospital environment Knowledge

Awareness of professional issues and recent developments in the NHS and Primary Care including Clinical Governance, NICE, and CQC Knowledge of up-to-date clinical/evidence-based practice. Experience providing complex assessments and discharge planning Use of outcome measures relevant to neurology Involvement with clinical audit Disclosure and Barring Service Check
