Permanent Purpose of the role

CIL are expanding and are seeking a motivated individual to join the team as an RF Test Engineer. As an RF Test Engineer, you will support the CIL Test department in carrying out functional tests of a range of PCBs; primarily of RF design according to customer test specifications, utilising customer-supplied test equipment. You will provide professional and technical expertise, supporting other departments and customers to achieve maximum quality, minimise waste and meet customer and company objectives. Primary duties & responsibilities

Carrying out functional test of a range of PCBs, primarily of RF design, according to customer test specifications and using customer-supplied test equipment. Fault-finding to component level PCBs that fail test and determine appropriate means to rectify faults, corrective, and preventive actions. Diagnose test-equipment related faults and devise effective repairs. Support the CIL PCBA Engineering Team in setting up test strategies for new products as part of NPI, which includes:

Review of new customer test specifications and where necessary recommend changes to ensure all test documents and related schematics are fit for use by CIL Test Department. First set-up, review and verification of customer-supplied test equipment as part of NPI. Review of customer supplied test fixtures and where necessary, recommend changes to ensure all test fixtures and tools are fit for use by the Test Department for production batches. Where test fixtures are not supplied, support the PCBA Engineering Team in the design and build of test fixtures.

Creation of fault logs and classification of failure modes for products to help Test, Engineering and the Quality department in yield analysis, identify areas for improvement either in terms of product design and/or process manufacture and aid in formulating corrective action plans. Support the Quality & Production functions in monitoring the functional state and calibration status of all test equipment and fixtures. Support Quality & Production functions to investigate customer returns, diagnose faults, identify root cause and effective corrective and preventive actions. Maintain awareness of Industry standards and best practices. Any other duties as required by RF Test Engineer / Senior Production Engineer (Validation & Standards) / Head of PCBA Engineering. Qualifications

Further Education in a relevant engineering discipline, ideally to a minimum of HNC or equivalent; electrical & electronic engineering. Demonstrate experience in Test and evaluation of RF or broadcasting electronic assemblies and equipment. Demonstrate ability to technically support customers and production with manufacturing queries.
