The Medical Device Service supports users of medical equipment across all of our hospital sites within the Northern Care Alliance. You will have a key role in supporting the department's responsibility for the maintenance, repair, and sub-contractor management of medical equipment. This will include first line support to users of medical equipment to optimize systems uptime to gain maximum use of medical equipment. Ideally, you will possess a minimum of HNC in Electronics and Clinical Engineering and have extensive experience since qualifying in the field of Medical Electronics. Knowledge in the application and repair of a wide range of medical equipment used in a hospital and community is essential, although some specific training will be provided. Consideration may be given to applicants with reduced knowledge and skills through a development pathway on a lower band with progression upon completion of the program. *Anyone who has applied in the last 3 months need not apply **Please note that, for this post, you will be required to have obtained a full UK Driving Licence** Main Duties of the Job

The post holder will provide specialist technical knowledge for the implementation and delivery of a long-term operational plan for cost-effective and efficient management and deployment of safe medical devices across the care organizations. They will be working towards achieving compliance levels for medical device repair and maintenance, including downtime, and ensure that systems are available to enable clinical teams to have insight into progress with maintenance and repair of their devices. Essential Qualifications

HNC (level 4/5 BTEC) minimum in Electronics Engineering Clinical Engineering Level 3 or above Registration

Register for Clinical Technologists (RCT) Knowledge, Skills, Training, and Experience

Experience in a field of medical electronic maintenance and repair Specialist knowledge in the application and use of a wide range of Electro Biomedical equipment Knowledge and experience of current legislation recommendations for the management of medical equipment Wide range of supplier-approved training on the servicing and repair of Electro Biomedical equipment Experience of management of sub-contractors Experience of working in an ISO9001 engineering environment Other
