Job description Dumfries and Galloway Mental Health Association is an established Scottish Charity with a strong vision and drive to deliver excellence in care support provision. Providing support to adults living in a registered care home enabling our residents to fully engage in all aspects of life. DGMHA are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager who will be responsible for supporting the Registered Manager and delivering high quality care in our registered ten-bed care home. The preferred candidate would have three years’ experience in supporting people in a care setting plus experience in managing teams. They will hold a SVQ Level 3 in Social Care or equivalent and be willing to work towards SVQ Level 4 in Social Care and SVQ level 4 Leadership and Management. Full training and support will be provided; however, we do require candidates who have a good depth of awareness, understanding and experience of Mental Health and have the ability to create, develop and drive forward personalised support plans. Training will also be provided on working with electronic systems which apply to rotas, care plans & medication. The role will involve supporting residents with complex needs with all aspects of home and community living, emotional and psychological support. We seek to empower and build confidence ensuring a healthy and fulfilled daily lifestyle. Within your role you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards. Key Responsibilities:

Support the Registered Manager in the daily operations Mentor and supervise a team of support workers Manage staff rotas and ensure adequate staffing levels Ensuring high standards of care and support are maintained To support the Registered Manager to ensure Care and Support plans are in place and up to date Undertake risk assessments Ensure service user reviews are carried out at stipulated intervals Assist the Registered Manager with concerns and complaints, ensuring they are dealt with promptly and as per complaints policy Ensure safe administration of medication Liaise with external professionals In return you will work for a Charity that puts adult wellbeing and safeguarding at the forefront of everything we do and be part of a friendly, ambitious, driven and innovative team.
