The Climate Action Officer: Community Relations is a key role, planning and ensuring the successful delivery of community engagement and peaceful change activities, primarily as part of the ‘Artitude: Climate, Culture, Circularity’ project. Working closely and collaboratively with the Climate Action Officer: Festival & Events as part of the Producing Team at The Playhouse and with project partners, the successful candidate will organise and deliver a series of Artitude Residencies over sustained periods of duration led by communities throughout the Derry City and Strabane District Council area. The residencies and associated activities will engage people in making positive change towards more sustainable ways of living. The post is a 2 year, fixed term full time contract (with possibility of extension). Key Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate and deliver Climate Action Community Relations activities including community residencies primarily for the Artitude: Climate, Culture and Circularity Project. Ensure all activities are as sustainably produced as possible - referring to best practice outlined in the Theatre Green Book, Circular and Wellbeing Economy models and Community Wealth Building principles. Engage and contract artists, facilitators and project support services ensuring all are well briefed and support the project outcomes. With the Finance team, monitor and oversee the Artitude Community Relations budget. Ensure all activity is safely delivered with appropriate insurance, health and safety and welfare procedures in place; undertaking all relevant risk assessments. Support the research/evaluation process. With the Marketing Team, promote and market activities effectively. With the Development Team, liaise with project funders and support good management of awards. Provide regular project reports including updates on activities, budgets & forecast, monitoring & evaluation. Keep abreast of emerging trends across community relations delivery ensuring The Playhouse continues to innovate. Develop strong relationships with people, communities and creative networks (active in climate change and yet to become active). Actively grow relevant new relationships and networks making sure to develop a robust database of contacts as part of The Playhouse’s CRM system. Develop strong relationships with The Playhouse Team, artists, technical crew, service suppliers, project partners and networks to enable smooth operations. Be an ambassador for The Playhouse and Artitude project throughout contract; raising awareness of the work and the communities we connect to. Maintain ethical and responsible processes and behaviours at all times. Work within and support the vision of The Playhouse to Create Community, Celebrate Diversity and Empower People through the Arts. Work collaboratively with colleagues across the project partnership. Support The Playhouse’s commitments in relation to equality, diversity and inclusion and environmental responsibility. In conjunction with the CEO, Senior Management team and external experts maintain and comply with best practice in health and safety, data protection and safeguarding. Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet the common needs of The Playhouse. The flexibility to work regular evenings and some weekends at events as required, for which time off in lieu will be given. Undertake such other duties deemed appropriate for the post holder by The Playhouse. About the Organisation
