As Research Intelligence Librarian, you’ll be responsible for the operational management and delivery of research intelligence services, contributing to the Library’s research and publication practice services operational plan. You’ll use your specialist knowledge to provide services in relation to bibliometrics and the impact of the University’s research outputs, leveraging research intelligence data to assist the University’s research community to understand trends within their discipline. This role is part time - 30 hours per week with the anticipated working pattern being Monday - Friday; 10am - 5pm. This will be discussed at interview as there may be some room for negotiation. Responsibilities

Develop and manage operational support for responsible bibliometrics, delivering against operational plans. Leverage a range of research intelligence data sources to extract and analyse research intelligence data in support of strategic requests from University leaders. Manage a responsive enquiry service, providing specialist advice to queries from the institution’s researchers about utilising research intelligence data. Prepare and contribute to standard and customised reports and presentations to support research impact understanding across the institution. Plan, design, coordinate and deliver training and guidance on research intelligence. Maintain current awareness and knowledge of research intelligence metrics and their impact on university level rankings. Build positive relationships with the University of Derby’s research community. Capture, collate, analyse and report data on research intelligence services. Work collaboratively with external suppliers and colleagues across the University. Actively participate as a member of working groups across the Library and the wider University. Provide line management to reporting colleagues as appropriate. Ensure compliance with relevant University policies and procedures. Experience

Experience of managing and delivering user-focussed services. Experience of working with bibliometric data sources and citation tracking capabilities. Experience of designing and delivering seminars and training. Experience of managing and delivering successful projects in a professional context. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Knowledge of bibliometrics and responsible metrics practices. Demonstrable ability to develop & utilise large quantities of data to identify trends. Understanding of the issues related to responsible research evaluation using bibliometric data. Confident and self-assured with strong presentation skills. Ability to design, develop and produce learning materials. Ability to plan, prioritise and organise work to achieve objectives on time. Qualifications

Postgraduate or additional relevant professional qualification. Membership of relevant professional bodies.
