Date Required: Summer Term 2025 or earlier Reporting To: Headteacher The Island Learning Centre (ILC) is a pupil referral unit that supports some of the most vulnerable young people on the island. An exciting opportunity now exists for a Deputy Headteacher to be responsible for driving teaching and learning excellence including: Innovative curriculum development. Monitoring, evaluating and inspiring teaching and learning. Applying Quality First Teaching. Digital Literacy Development. The ILC provides a stimulating and nurturing environment for a range of students who for a variety of reasons are unable to attend mainstream schools. This could be due to medical needs, being emotionally vulnerable or having social and emotional difficulties. The Centre aims to be a Trauma Informed and Therapeutic centre of excellence working with children, their parents, and home schools. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, creative individual who has high expectations of all children and what they can achieve.
