Position Description As a regional manager in Networks Telecoms, you will be a key member of the Networks Telecoms leadership team, leading our regional telecoms service and deployment teams. Working in a collaborative and inclusive environment where your contributions are valued and recognised, you will be part of a team committed to maintaining and supporting a high-performing operational network. In this leadership position, you will take ownership of ensuring the reliable operation and maintenance of telecoms infrastructure across the region. You will manage work activities and resource planning to ensure efficient and effective service delivery. You will ensure that our network management processes and structures are actively maintained and continually improved. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful operation and future development of ESB’s national telecommunications network and supporting the achievement of the ESB Networks Net Zero Strategy. Key Responsibilities Leadership of Regional Teams:

Lead the Networks Telecoms regional teams to deliver the safe installation and maintenance of telecoms equipment and services. Ensure deployment projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Network Service and Maintenance:

Oversee the ongoing maintenance and service of a wide variety of telecoms equipment, ensuring reliability and performance. Manage the team’s task queue, prioritising urgent tasks and ensuring timely completion. Safety Leadership:

Champion safety protocols and practices, ensuring all projects adhere to stringent safety standards. Promote a culture of safety and compliance across all project phases. Technology Integration:

Oversee the integration of new infrastructure into ESB’s telecoms network, ensuring seamless deployment and operation. Utilise best practices and industry standards to drive project success. Stakeholder Coordination:

Maintain professional, timely, and productive communication with all stakeholders, including EirGrid, Networks Telecoms Programme Delivery and the PMO, internal service providers, vendors, and third-party suppliers. Resource Planning:

Define resources and capability, estimate efforts, and plan project stages from initiation to closure. Contractor Management:

Coordinate and manage contractors, ensuring they meet project requirements and standards. Governance and Reporting:

Develop a strong governance culture and ensure adherence, while managing project reporting, risks, issues, and quality. Project Management Methodology:

Ensure the ESB Project Management Methodology is used during all project phases from initiation to closure, and that all activities are meticulously planned and executed. Effective Communication:

Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborative Environment:

Develop a collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and open communication across all teams, including contractor resources. Commercial Management:

Oversee commercial aspects of projects, including budgeting, cost control, and contract management. Ensure financial objectives are met and commercial risks are managed effectively. Cross-Business Support:

Collaborate with other business units within ESB Networks to ensure alignment and support for telecoms projects and initiatives. Support Leadership Functions:

Assist other leadership functions within the organisation, providing strategic input and support to enhance overall project and organisational success. On-Call Engineer Role:

Participate in an on-call or availability rota to provide technical support and ensure rapid response to critical issues. Act as a lead technical liaison for critical customer groups, understanding their requirements and expectations. Experience and Qualifications Proven leadership experience 3rd Level qualification or equivalent work experience Full driving licence and access to a car Minimum of 5 years relevant experience. Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities Experience in delivering significant work programmes or project/contract delivery Flexible approach to work, with a focus on excellent customer service Strong communication and report writing skills Knowledge of telecommunications technologies and protocols Experience with preparation of safety documentation Excellent presentation and communication skills Familiarity with the ESB Project Management Methodology Technical knowledge of ESB’s electrical and/or telecommunications networks Experience with writing and publishing documentation to the OneSource standard PSDP/PSCS Competency Location The three positions are based in the ESB regional offices in Leopardstown, Finglas and Rosbrien. Flexibility for travel to meetings in other ESB offices or sites throughout Ireland is required.
