Our dedicated geotechnical experts are highly experienced in project delivery from early planning studies through to the construction phase. Working closely with structural and civil engineering disciplines, the team has a proven track record delivering projects across the sectors. Projects are varied and typically involve regulated and complex environments. We’ve delivered a range of building and infrastructure redevelopments, identifying and managing risks and designing tailored, sustainable geotechnical solutions for our clients. Our Graduate Programme Our two-year graduate scheme will start your journey to becoming a Chartered Engineer, giving you the opportunity to work with industry-leading teams and equip you with the skills that you need to begin a successful career in design and engineering. You’ll be part of the team and get involved in a wide variety of projects to develop your experience from the very first day. Within your role as a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer/ Engineering Geologist at BakerHicks, you will be required to prepare and input to various stages of Ground Engineering deliverables, supporting the company's growth on all aspects of projects across a number of sectors including power, rail, highways, life sciences, nuclear and aviation. Principal Responsibilities Undertake the design and specification of Ground Engineering activities. Undertake site inspections of existing assets. Represent BakerHicks on site visits where required to observe ground investigation works. Support the development of Ground Engineering service capabilities across BakerHicks’ geographic locations. What We're Looking For We’re looking for individuals with a passion for Ground Engineering and have or are set to achieve at least a 2:1 in a relevant Civil Engineering or Earth Sciences degree. Preferably you will hold an MSc in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology. You will be willing and excited to be part of undertaking site works and will have a valid UK driver's licence. You’ll also need to feel confident to challenge the status quo, strive for perfect delivery and possess a willingness to get involved with every opportunity to develop yourself and put our customers first. Due to the recent changes to salary thresholds set by UKVI, BakerHicks graduate positions do not meet the requirements to support new entrant visa sponsorship. Therefore, all applicants must have the permanent right to work in the United Kingdom. Additionally, many of the positions within our company are subject to security clearance. This means that your eligibility for certain roles may be affected by various factors. The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain security clearance for this role as required by our clients and sectors.
